It’s true… I’ve never done boudoir photos myself!
I am guilty. I admit it.
I talk the talk, but I’ve never walked the walked. Why? I honestly have no excuses.
So that’s that, it’s done, it’s being said… I’m doing a boudoir session for myself.
Here’s the kicker, I’ve decided to let my husband, (whom you may or may not know is a photographer as well), take the photos. I have made arrangements with my photographer husband to have the session take place on our 5 year anniversary, which is March 20th (and wow, it seems like yesterday that we got married). I am very excited and feel like this is something I should have done a long time ago.
So with that said, the count down begins: right now I’m just a pale, flaky mess, with overgrown eyebrows, a way overdue “highlight situation”, and a little bit of the “I ate too many Christmas cookies” gut. I know, I know…..I say this doesn’t really matter, but when your husband’s taking the photos, I suppose I should try to look my “anniversary best” for the love of my life!!!!
I’m so excited to post some of the photos. My husband takes great pride in his art and it shows (because he’s amazing) so I can’t wait to show you all what he does. I just hope it’s not such a great success that he thinks he should start doing boudoir photography.
So please, I need some encouragement, here. Today I am starting the official “Charlotte is Going to Do Boudoir Photos Countdown”. Stay tuned as I regularly update all you gals on my progress (and my little fits of self-conscious whining), and hopefully this becomes a kind of empowering example for any of you fellow “on-the-fence” gals who think they’re not quite “boudoir portrait material”. Because trust me, after two kids, a healthy diet of “whatever I want” and a regimen of evening cocktails, I have more than a few doubts about this myself.
But my husband thinks I’m “so sexy” (he wanted me to write this)…
…so maybe I might be able to pull this off.
