The Stunning Mrs. M – Q&A
It’s question answer time again! Mrs. M has some fantastic things to say about her experience getting boudoir photos. I Love hearing all of the unexpected emotions and discoveries that happen after women do boudoir photos with me, it truly is such a blessing to be a part of that. I can absolutely attest that Mrs. M was on the fence about getting photos done for several years, and was pretty nervous getting the entire process arranged and set in stone. In fact, I’m pretty sure she probably considered calling me to back out a million times in the 60 days before the shoot…lol! So happy that she didn’t though, because we truly did have a blast!!! So glad to hear that all of her nervousness subsided pretty quickly as we got into the session. I’m sure the mimosas helped with that as well!!! Sounds like the results of the actual photos made her even more confident in her decision to do the shoot, but I’ve said this before and I’ll say it again, I’m telling you… doing boudoir photos is so much more than just the final prints! Let’s read what she has to say about her experience…
1. How long have you been married? 10 years
2. Describe your body type in 3 words? I guess I’m an “apple”, which basically means I have skinny legs and boobs. I carry my weight in the middle, something that’s always bothered me.
3. How do you feel about your body? Well, before this shoot, I’d have said, the less said the better. I’ve always been very self-conscious and hard on myself. I’ve had three kids, gone high up and down in weight, which left me with stretch marks and breastfeeding wear-and-tear. Mostly, I’ve just been more about covering up than showing off. Now though… this made me feel beautiful. It made me feel sexy and alive and strong. I think I’ve been walking with my shoulders back and tossing my hair a lot more. Seeing myself through a new lens, literally and figuratively, made me appreciate what I’ve never been able to see before.
4. What is your husband’s favorite thing about your body? Ha! Boobs! That was easy!
5. What’s your best tip for feeling pretty? – Remember that confidence is the best accessory. It shows you in the best possible light every time. That, and mascara is always good.
6. How long did you contemplate doing boudoir photos? I only ask this because I think i know the answer…lol! – Oh, boy, you know it was forever! I probably started thinking about it when you first started the business, years ago. The clincher was my 10th anniversary last summer. I had a desire to prove something, to show that I’ve grown as a person and as a woman and, yeah, I also totally wanted to knock my husband over with my hotness.
7. What was your favorite part about your boudoir session experience? – Umm… finally just being there, when the anticipation and nervousness and terror was done with. There were no more crunches left to do, you know? The bell had rung and it was time to get in the ring. Once we were actually started (with a couple mimosas in me), I just felt so excited and silly and had such a great time it made all my nervousness seem so pointless in hindsight. Getting the hair and make-up done was really fun, too!
8. What was your husband’s reaction when he got to see the photos? – That smile just got bigger and bigger and bigger. He kept saying, “WOW!” and then would turn the page and say it again. He was blown away and really impressed.
9. Would you encourage other women to do boudoir photos? and why? – Absolutely! I already have several times. It was definitely worth it. Giving them to my husband was great, but it was more for me than him. I felt so empowered and feminine and confident. It was gift to myself. I can look back at them and remember that I put myself first and let it all show. It was an affirmation of my own worth and sexiness outside of anyone else’s opinion. Plus, let’s be honest, it’s been excellent “reading” material for my husband when I’m not around to… hang out with. Ahem.
Charlotte, I can’t tell you enough how amazing this whole experience was for me. You made it easy. I was instantly comfortable, you knew exactly how to pose me, talk to me, make me laugh and keep the whole session flowing so there was never any awkwardness. The pictures themselves are perfection. I spent the whole rest of the day and night floating on a cloud of adrenaline and smiles. My husband loves them, I love them and I plan to enjoy them even more in 20, 30, 40 years than I do now. It’s a memory I never want to forget! – Mrs. M
